What to Look For When Buying a Hot Tub. What do I Get with the Tub?

Now that you've decided why you're getting the hot tub and where you're going to put it, you need to know what actually comes with it. Do you have to add the cover? Chemicals included? This should help.

When you get a brand new hot tub you should expect to get the cover too. The cover is one of the main insulators of your tub and will fit your new hot tub snugly to keep the heat in. You must have the cover. Chemicals, at least a starter kit, should also be included with your new hot tub. There are several ways to sanitize your new hot tub, so your sales associate should be able to work with you on this to find the option that works best for YOU.

Additional items that are often purchased with, and sometimes included, with your new hot tub are cover lifts and steps. Cover lifts do a couple of things. They make it way easier for one person to get the cover on and off which helps to not have to manhandle the cover, which oftentimes can damage the cover. Cover lifts also help keep the cover off the ground to keep it cleaner and less likely to get damaged. There are different styles of cover lifts, so speak with your salesperson to see what suits your area and needs the best.

Steps obviously make it easier for someone to actually enter the hot tub. Hot tubs are getting taller and taller which can make it hard for shorter folks to get into the tub. There are different step options depending on the height of the tub and where you may be putting it.

Other accessories that can be added to your new hot tub are handrails, side tables, cantilever umbrellas, and even floating bars. Basements and Backyards has all of these items on display for you to see and decide if you can live without them or not.
